Secret Sauce
Over 40 years ago, my dad, Mark, couldn’t find a decent meat marinade. Thus was born Mark’s Secret Sauce, the perfect meat marinade. So named because he wanted to one day bottle and sell his delicious sauce, life and business took over. He shared his “secret” recipe over the years, true to his generous nature and love of sharing good food. Mark learned to cook from his Cajun mother and he and his wife are always serving up something delicious.

The basic components of a meat marinade are an acid, an oil, and flavor (seasonings). Most “marinades” you find on your grocery shelf are missing one of these key ingredients…oil. Our recipe includes each of these key components, including olive oil, and we strive to use high-quality ingredients and no preservatives.
It is a myth that marinating meat for hours will make it more tender. It will only break down the outer layer of the meat, resulting in a mushy texture. With our marinade, you could be grilling in as little as 30 minutes. The thicker the cut, the longer you want to marinate your meat, but no longer than 2 hours.
